A Course In Weight Loss: 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering Your Weight Forever

weight loss
“If your ‘weighty thinking’ does not change, then even if you lose weight you’ll retain an overwhelming subconscious urge to gain it back. It’s less important how quickly you lose weight, and more important how holistically you lose weight; you want your mind, your emotions, and your body to all ‘lose weight.’ Weight that disappears from your body but not from your soul is simply recycling outward for a while
but is almost certain to return. It’s self-defeating, therefore, to struggle to drop excess weight unless
you are also willing to drop the thought-forms that initially produced it and now hold it in place.”
 Marianne Williamson

What is the connection between spirituality and weight loss? Best-selling author Marianne Williamson is about to answer that question for you in her groundbreaking new book, bringing you 21 spiritual lessons to help you surrender your weight forever. These lessons form a holistic paradigm for weight loss, addressing the spiritual, emotional, and psychological elements involved in what Williamson refers to as “conscious weight loss.” If you are a food addict, a compulsive eater, or someone who for any reason sees food as the enemy, this book is for you.

A Course in Weight Loss addresses the true causal root of your weight-loss issues: a place within you where you have forgotten your divine perfection. This forgetfulness has confused not only your mind but also your body, making you reach for that which cannot sustain you . . . and reject that which does. As your mind reclaims its spiritual intelligence, your body will reclaim its natural intelligence as well.

The 21 lessons in this book will take you on a deep, sacred journey. One step at a time, you will learn to shift your relationship with yourself—and your body—from one of fear to one of love. And you will begin to integrate the various parts of yourself—mind, body, and spirit—to become, once again, and in all ways, the beautiful and peaceful person you were created to be.
As Williamson writes: “When it comes to your enjoyment of eating, your best days are not behind you but ahead of you!” So get ready to begin a new relationship with food . . . and with yourself.

If diets worked then there would be no market for them I guess. Most people who need to lose weight canso real trying something new every few months only to see their initial weight loss strain to, or what is even worse, increase.

Does Lunch At Your PC Make Your Eat More?

If you eat lunch parked in front of your computer every day, you need to know that this habit may be boosting your appetite.
lunch in front of your computer
Most of us know the advice to avoid eating in front of the TV or computer, but many completely ignore that message.
Well, a recent small study has shown that those who ate lunch while playing a computer game ended up eating more 30 minutes later, than those who had eaten their lunch with no distractions.
Previous studies have demonstrated that distractions at mealtimes lead to eating more, however this study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, went a little further, showing the effects of this distraction actually last beyond the meal.
44 volunteers were assigned to one of two groups. One group was asked to eat a set lunch while playing solitaire on a computer. The other group had the same meal, but with no distractions.Thirty minutes after their lunch, both groups took a cookie "taste test," where they could sample as much as they wanted. They were also asked to recall all nine items they'd eaten at lunch, and the order in which the foods were served. On average, the computer group ate roughly 250 calories worth of cookies, while the other group ate half as much. Also, the computer group had more difficulty remembering the order in which their lunch had been served, and reported feeling less full afterwards.
The researchers suggest computer users have a fuzzier memory of their lunch, and therefore felt less satisfied afterwards, in comparison to the control group.
Researcher Jeffrey Brunstrom, of the University of Bristol, UK, said:

We think that memory for recent meals influences the amount of food that we select and then consume at a subsequent meal... When our memory is poor, then at a subsequent meal we tend to select and consume a greater amount of food.
It's pretty obvious, but you can't possibly pay attention to what you eat and how much, when you are distracted so heavily. One of the keys to eating less at mealtimes is to eat mindfully -- you can't eat mindfully when you aren't paying attention to what your stomach is telling you.
If you are the master multi-tasker in your home, taking a break at mealtimes away from the TV and computer screen, is a new habit you should try to implement. Also, if you've got children, take note -- one U.S. study found that up to a quarter of children's calorie intake occurs in front of a TV.
So, is it time to set some new healthy goals for the incoming year, to improve your health and that of your whole family?

Stop making diet: forget everything you've read

"You might have to fight a battle more than once to win it." - Margaret Thatcher
"A swallow not a summer make."-Aristotle
"Fed Up!" Read the cover of Newsweek, who came to ask, "are there nothing left that you can eat?" Any area of health has been confusing and misunderstood that diet and nutrition, particularly in relation to the risk of heart disease and cholesterol levels. The message is everywhere. Good Morning America is presenting suggestions of weight loss on each day of this month. AOL tells subscribers via e-mail that it is "time to lose his spare tire." Magazines lining grocery aisles exhort you to "lose!" 10 pounds this month
According to U.S. News, Americans spend more than 33 million dollars a year in books of diet, food, software, gadgets and DVD hoping to lose weight. However, around two-thirds of the u.s. population continues to be overweight. Around 30 percent are obese, and half of them are diets. Is therefore converted into crystal clear diet doesn't work! The solution is simple: stop obsessed about in every bite you put in the mouth.
Most people think that eating properly means cutting all love and thus feel unsatisfied and disadvantaged. But the facts are eating healthily and weight reduction should not involve pain and sacrifice. In all likelihood, many of their favorite foods are healthy, and many of your favorite recipes can be easily modified to be healthy. Adequate food requires only a few simple adjustments.
You need to follow a rule and maintain a commitment. Rule: reduce fat by making simple substitutions. This reduces the levels of cholesterol, but also the amount of calories. Commitment: set aside his notions preconceived on food and become a reflexive dining. Being a dining le mans reflective thinking as clearly and objectively the food you eat; make more informed and comfortably; adjustments and substitutions experience and learn what works best for you; Introducing changes over time, rather than abruptly; And allowing slips. Being a reflexive dining also means becoming interested in learning of relevant information on nutrition and health.
Here are some suggestions for changes in your diet. These are designed as guidelines. You may want to adjust some or other changes in your own eating plan.
Seven substitutions:
l use milk nonfat or low in fat, cheese and yogurt without fat instead of entire mile and regular cheese, butter ice cream.
2. Eat more fish and chicken (with the skin removed) and complex carbohydrates such as pasta, rice and bread. Eat lean cuts average with fat trimmed and smaller portions (e.g., 4 ounces).
3. Use of egg whites or substitutes for egg yolks.
4 Prevent high cholesterol foods such as liver, kidneys, brain and Sweetbreads.
5 Trim meat processed sausage, mortadella, corned beef, pastrami, salami and hot dogs. Try chicken or Turkey breasts with mustard instead of butter and may.
6 Adopt healthier cooking methods: boil, sequence, Broil, roast, or bake instead of frying.
7. Select sauces and salad dressings made with olive oil and soy and avoid saturated oils. Taste of their meals with herbs and spices instead of butter and fatty sauces.
Finally, making assessments of food label a routine part of your purchase, you will become more informed and aware envelope food and of course more aware of the amount of fat you eat. Remember: bears eat compulsive guilt, compulsive rather than eating and ultimately defeat and resignation. Stay conscious, aware of options, to learn form their experiences and stay with your plan. As Gandhi once said, "we cannot we can at a time when undone a life habits."

3 Day Detox Diet That Will Kick Start any weight loss regime

3 Day Detox Diet
Are you looking for the quickest, safest and easiest way to feel better and look great? If you answered yes, this article will show you the right way to go about it
For a quick way to clean out your system without committing to a long term diet change, do a 3 day detox diet!. Diets lasting for more than a few days are extremely difficult to follow. However, if you know that you have just three days to stick with it, then it becomes a pleasure and not a chore.
Actually, the overall 3 day detox plan is extremely simple and very easy to execute. There are several varieties of this diet and it's up to you to choose the one that suits your tastes and lifestyle. However, you must stick to the exact diet though; otherwise, your detoxification process will be ruined.
Day 1
Start day one by liberating your body from all the built up toxins. Begin by drinking water in the morning and continue to do so all day. You can drink fruit juice, but only if it is 100% pure without added sugars! Your breakfast should consist of a wholegrain cereal and fruit; for lunch, have a fresh salad and veggies; veggie soup would be great for dinner and should be eaten no later than 6:00 p.m. Although salad and fruit are allowed on day 1, the key is to get plenty of water and vegetables. These are fantastic eliminators of waste and other toxins from the body. It is also important for you to exercise. A 30-minute brisk walk will do just fine
Day 2
O.K. You are in day 2 of the detox plan. Congratulations! You don't want to turn back now, so it is essential that you keep drinking lots of water. Obviously, during your detoxification process, you are not allowed to consume coffee, tea, soda, junk food, etc. After all, this is what contributed to the toxins in your body in the first place. If you're groaning, stop it! You do want to feel and look great, right?
On day 2, you should eat fresh fruit and drink water for breakfast. A nice, fresh green salad is great for lunch and for dinner, have some steamed vegetables. After being on this extremely healthy diet for just two days, you will feel great, your skin will be cleared and that bloated feeling around your stomach will disapper!
Day 3
Now you are on your last leg of the detox. Good for you! Continue to drink lots of water and eat plenty of fruit. You may feel a bit hungry, but don't stop now! Your body is finally freeing itself of all those accumulated toxins and waste. Keep going and don't exert much energy today. If you eat vegetables for dinner, you will not have cravings during the night.
The 3 day detox diet may seem scanty, but it is only for three days. Remember, the whole idea is to cleanse your body. By avoiding foods with chemicals or other unnatural substances, you're giving your body a totally natural diet, the way it was intended to be. Say, why don't you go look in the mirror? Give yourself a high five, because you're feeling better and looking great!
Before anyone starts a weight loss regiment, I always recommend this cleansing program. It clears your body and your mind while jump-starting your weight loss and fitness program. Once you get started, don't stop, but maintain it for the rest of your life!
